The  largest whitewater paddling festival in Western Canada. Great place to do some stand up paddle boarding on the river and meet others in the whitewater paddling community.

Alberta Slalom | May - September

If you want to test your slalom, slalom cross and freestyle skills, Alberta Slalom Canoe Kayak has a ton of races lined up for the 2022 season, including several open to stand up paddle boarding. Check the Alberta Slalom website for the full schedule.

Grizzly SUP | Quarry Lake, Canmore​​ — July 16

The 7th Grizzly SUP flatwater race is back on this year with a 2,000-metre race on Quarry Lake in Canmore, Alberta. The event includes a men's and women's category, as well as free 500-metre race for kids (12 and under). Sign up before April 30 for the discounted early bird registration fee.

KanFest | Kananaskis, AB — August 13 - 14

Kanfest is a gathering of whitewater kayaking and SUP enthusiasts for a weekend of slalom and slalom cross races, clinics and friendly competition.

Kalamalka Classic | Kalamalka Lake, BC — August 20-21

The iconic 16-kilometer Kalamalka Crossing is the main event, the festival includes races for inflatable stand up paddle boards and kids. Easily one of the top SUP races in Canada, organized by one of the best shops, Kalavida.

Queen of the Valley SUP Race & Yoga | Ghost Lake, AB — September (TBD)

A stellar flatwater event dedicated to, in the words of Queen of the Valley organizers, "remind women just how strong, important, capable and badass we are and how each of us can feel compassionate towards the other." We couldn't agree more.

Bow Valley Logjam | Canmore, AB — September 10

An amazing downriver stand up paddle board race along the Bow River in Canmore, AB. This event, organized by Bow Valley SUP, attracts large turnout of competitors and spectators, with proceeds donated to a local charity.
